The sacrament through which Christ continues His ministry through bishops, priests, and deacons.
Holy Orders is the sacrament through which the mission entrusted by Christ to his Apostles continues to be exercised in the Church until the end of time. It is the sacrament of apostolic ministry.
Through ordination, men are consecrated as bishops, priests, or deacons to serve the Church in a special way — continuing Christ’s mission of teaching, sanctifying, and leading His people.
Bishops receive the fullness of the priesthood. As successors of the Apostles, they lead and shepherd a diocese, ordain priests and deacons, and guard the deposit of faith.
Priests serve their bishop and their community by celebrating the sacraments, preaching the Word of God, and shepherding the faithful in their pastoral care.
Deacons are ordained to assist the bishop and priests, and to serve the Church in ministries of charity, proclamation of the Word, and liturgical functions.
Do you feel a stirring in your heart — a sense that God might be calling you to something more? Discernment is a sacred process of prayer, conversation, and openness to God’s will.
Whether you are discerning priesthood, the diaconate, or consecrated religious life, our pastor is available to accompany you on this journey in complete confidence.
